Probably one of the most enjoyable things about what I do is watching students learn and grow. It really just makes my day to know the videos help people, either just learning their camera or flash, or something big like starting a full time business or winning a contest. I really believe this is the most rewarding part of my job. I have a secret in that I LOVE to buy work from my students and hang it in my home, it is deeply satisfying for some reason.
I first came to know of Brian in late 2008 when my Photoshop Crash Course DVD was first released. The reason he sticks out so much in my mind was that literally a week or two after watching it, he became both extremely proficient and prolific in his work. I would say Brain mastered most of the basics in 2-3 months, whereas it typically takes about 2-3 years to really learn everything. He hasn't looked back since. Some of you will also notice that Brian won last years Abstract Division of my 2011 Photography Contest, and I will be asking him to help judge this year. Another thing I have come to appreciate about Brian is that he is interested in all kinds of photography, portraits, HDR, landscapes, even getting into video work now too.
Brian has a tremendous hunger for study and improvement which is why over the years he has gotten so good and I also know that he has struggled with some health issues since he started getting into photography. Brian is also working on his 3rd 365 Project. Getting through one is an amazing accomplishment, and his photography is now at the level as good as anyone else's out there.
